Last month I celebrated my first “Fitversary” and I am so happy with the results. That means I have followed my new fit lifestyle for one whole year! Through the years I have tried many different fitness plans and theories. Never have I stuck so tightly to a plan for a long period of time. That alone makes me very proud. Trainer Lindsey’s 6 Week Fit Body Challenge has changed my life. At the end of one year, I lost 9 inches and 8 pounds. (my total inch loss at 6 weeks was higher because I have since gained inches in desired areas, such as my calves, biceps. and booty) That doesn’t sound like a lot, but it’s huge to me. Sure I wanted to lose 15 pounds, not 8, but the total inch loss is where it’s at. I have seen stubborn fat areas dwindle. In fact, I don’t care so much about the scale anymore. Most people guess my weight incorrectly. I’ve seen pictures of women at two different weights and they actually look skinnier at a higher weight due to the muscle mass and inch loss.
I feel so much better and I have more confidence now. I can’t wait to see what the next year of this lifestyle does for my body. I’m sharing this information with you because I truly believe in this product. If you are seeking a fitness routine or want to lose a little or a lot of weight, I highly recommend giving this plan a try. I’ve seen many happy stories and successes on Trainer Lindsey and Idealfit’s Facebook pages. You should check them out.
Here’s a little summary of my first year:
I wrote in an earlier post how I started slow and broke in the new plan with the 15 Day Challenge. After completing the 15 days I committed to the 6-week challenge. Lindsey’s plans are extremely easy to follow. She gives you all the resources you need complete with the workouts, meal plans, yummy recipes, shopping lists and more. Yes, there was an adjustment period. I had to shift to a little more meal prep than I was doing. I wake up a half hour earlier in the morning to get the workouts in. Ordering healthy alternatives when eating out has become my new routine. It all came so easy after the first 6 weeks ended that I continued on with another round then another and another…
It was not a picture perfect year. I had a little off time over the holidays. Instead of a treat meal on weekends, I often have a treat day or weekend. I do have occasional alcoholic drinks. However, during the first 6-week challenge I held firm to no drinks at all. I wanted to maximize my results. I had more down time when we sold our house and moved 6 months into this plan. It took a few weeks to get my house and life back in order. We run a business that is very physically demanding and full time for me. So it was just a little too much during those weeks.
Some of my happiest moments were the past three months when my daughter was home from college and joined me in the meal plan. She prefers working out at the gym so she did her own workouts. It was so nice to have a partner eating healthy with me. We grocery shopped and meal prepped together. Near the end of her summer break, she was making meals for both of us! I feel great knowing that she has learned clean healthy eating strategies and will be implementing them in her daily life. Even away at college. She was surprised at how good tasting this healthy eating can be.
The protein that Trainer Lindsey uses is the bomb! It’s truly the best tasting protein I have ever had. With 20 grams of protein per serving and only 80 calories. It has 0 carbs, sugar, and fat and tastes so delicious. There are 8 flavors to choose from as well as an unflavored option. They consistently add new flavors too. My favorites are French Vanilla. Chocolate Brownie and Caramel Mocha. I also use Idealleans BCAAs. Again, so delicious. There are 7 flavor choices of BCAAs. My favorites are Iced Mocha Latte and Strawberry Kiwi.
